Responsibilities
The Product Designer will identify opportunities for new products and analyze how proposed products align with market needs and consumer preferences.
The successful candidate will set design requirements based on briefs received from internal teams and external partners.
Responsibilities will also include researching materials and design techniques and creating initial product concepts through sketches, either on paper or digitally.
The designer will use CAD and 3D modelling software to develop product designs and components.
The role will also involve producing prototypes, testing their functionality, improving existing product designs, and gathering feedback from product users.
Requirements
Applicants should have a degree and an interest in product design, industrial design, or a related discipline.
Previous work experience as a Product Designer or in a similar role is listed as a requirement, although the vacancy is also open to candidates with no experience or less than one year of experience.
Candidates should have knowledge or experience in industrial design and demonstrate creativity when working with colours, shapes, materials, and different design techniques.
Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) tools and good knowledge of 3D modelling software are important for the role.
Applicants should also be familiar with design programmes such as Adobe Illustrator and Sketch.
