Tayari.live is a learning platform with a downloadable app that provides children living in the diaspora and other parts of Africa with opportunities to learn African languages.
The platform is designed to make language learning fun and engaging while helping children preserve their cultural heritage and develop a stronger sense of cultural pride.
Swahili is currently the main focus of the project, with Yoruba, Akan, Shona, and Krio being added as the platform expands.
Tayari.live is seeking a passionate and engaging Yoruba Language Teacher to provide accurate lessons and enjoyable learning experiences for children enrolled in the programme.
The successful candidate will provide one-on-one virtual Yoruba lessons for children and may also record lessons that allow students to learn independently.
The role is offered on a part-time basis and can be performed remotely from anywhere in the world, provided the candidate has the required equipment and reliable internet connection.

The position provides practical experience in online teaching, language education, tutoring, and working with children in a virtual learning environment.
Teachers will also have the opportunity to work with an international student audience, including children living in the African diaspora.
Payment is based on lessons taught, with the advertised rate ranging from ₦5,000 to ₦7,488 per hour, depending on experience and other factors.
There may also be an opportunity to progress into a full-time teaching position after completing the required probationary period.
Requirements
Applicants are recommended to have at least 2 years of experience in teaching, tutoring, coaching, or mentoring.
Candidates should have obtained a four-year university degree. A degree in Yoruba or Languages is not mandatory but may be beneficial during the assessment process.
Applicants must have strong knowledge of both spoken and written Yoruba and be able to communicate effectively with students.
The role requires access to a reliable desktop or laptop computer and a fast, stable internet connection. A wired connection of at least 25 Mbps is recommended.
Candidates should also have a stable power supply and a backup power source to minimise interruptions during virtual lessons.
Excellent written and spoken English, strong interpersonal skills, and good presentation abilities are also required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace and online meeting applications is an added requirement.
The ideal candidate should be highly organised, proactive, results-driven, socially engaged, and passionate about working with learners.
Candidates should also be able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.

The position can be performed from anywhere in the world as long as the candidate meets the technical and teaching requirements.
Working hours will vary depending on the teaching and other work required for the role.
Tayari.live will design the lesson curriculum and review it with selected teachers before lessons are delivered.
