About Hap Label Brands and Communication Networks

Hap Label Brands and Communication Networks is recruiting a talented and research-driven Content Writer to contribute to a publication focused on consumer finance and the rapidly evolving world of digital payments.

The publication covers topics such as digital payments, payment restrictions, hidden fees, dispute processes, refunds, and the changing ways consumers manage and spend money.

The company is looking for a writer who can produce original, deeply researched, and useful content capable of competing with established fintech and consumer finance publications.

The ideal candidate should be genuinely interested in understanding how digital payments work and willing to investigate the experiences, policies, systems, and challenges behind consumer financial products.

This role is suitable for someone who enjoys following fintech developments, researching payment systems, experimenting with products, and transforming complex financial topics into clear and persuasive articles.

The position is remote and offered on a full-time basis.

What You Will Do

The successful candidate will research and write approximately 3 to 6 original articles per week covering payments, hidden fees, digital wallets, neobanks, refunds, disputes, retention offers, and other consumer finance topics.

You will conduct primary research by testing products, examining policies and fine print, documenting customer service interactions, and gathering verified information and data points.

The role involves managing the full content production process from ideation and briefing to outlining, writing, editing, SEO optimization, publishing, and promotion.

You may also create structured database content where individual entries become permanent and searchable pages for readers.

Supporting media such as screenshots, annotated images, screen recordings, and before-and-after comparisons may also be required where they improve reader understanding.

You will apply SEO best practices, including keyword research, search intent analysis, internal linking, meta optimization, and effective heading structures.

The successful candidate will monitor content performance through analytics tools and improve content based on what is ranking, attracting readers, and converting successfully.

You will also maintain publishing schedules, meet weekly targets, communicate delays proactively, and stay informed about developments in fintech and consumer finance.

Benefits

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on a research-driven publication covering important and rapidly evolving areas of consumer finance and financial technology.

The role provides an opportunity to develop deeper expertise in digital payments, banking, personal finance, SEO, analytics, and content strategy.

Writers will gain practical experience conducting original research and translating complex policies, financial systems, and technical concepts into accessible content.

The remote position also provides flexibility while allowing the successful candidate to work independently and collaborate asynchronously with the wider team.

Requirements

Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of professional writing experience, including at least 18 months writing about fintech, payments, banking, personal finance, or a closely related field.

Candidates must provide a live portfolio containing at least 5 published fintech or personal finance articles that can be accessed without paywalls.

Applications without portfolio links will not be reviewed, making a strong and accessible writing portfolio an essential requirement for this position.

Applicants should have a demonstrable understanding of the payment landscape and consumer finance challenges such as hidden fees, chargebacks, disputes, fee waivers, promotions, cashback, vouchers, and card rewards.

The successful candidate should have native-level written English and be comfortable with both US and British spelling conventions, idioms, financial formats, and cultural references.

Candidates must be self-directed, capable of working independently from a topic brief, managing deadlines, communicating blockers asynchronously, and responding positively to editorial feedback.

Strong knowledge of SEO and content strategy is required, including keyword research, search intent, metadata, header hierarchy, internal linking, image optimization, URL structure, and content gap analysis.

Applicants should also understand technical and off-page SEO concepts such as backlinks, schema markup, mobile optimization, crawlability, sitemaps, Core Web Vitals, and Google’s E-E-A-T framework.

Strong writing skills are essential, including the ability to structure clear and engaging articles, use subheadings effectively, maintain a consistent voice, and explain complex fintech concepts without oversimplifying them.

Experience with tools such as Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Notion, image editing software, screen capture tools, and work management platforms is also expected.

Working proficiency in at least two SEO or analytics tools, such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Keyword Planner, Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Surfer SEO, Clearscope, or Frase, is required.

Additional Skills

Experience writing for Nigerian publications or Nigerian fintech companies is strongly preferred.

Experience with newsletter platforms, WordPress, Webflow, Ghost, basic HTML, or Markdown may also provide an advantage.

The employer does not accept AI-generated writing. AI tools may be used for research, but all final written content must be produced by the writer.

Applicants should also be prepared to produce original work supported by primary research, first-hand observation, proprietary data, or meaningful analysis rather than rewriting existing competitor content.

How to Apply

Interested and qualified candidates should prepare an updated CV and ensure that they have accessible links to their published fintech or personal finance writing portfolio.

Applicants should make sure their portfolio demonstrates strong research ability, clear writing, understanding of financial topics, and the ability to create original and useful consumer finance content.

The application should be submitted through the available online application platform.
