The Opportunity

As a Portfolio Intern, you will support the monitoring and analysis of SME customer portfolios. You will work with reports, dashboards, and portfolio data to identify trends, maintain accurate records, and provide insights that support business decisions. The position offers hands-on experience with data-driven portfolio management and financial services.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring SME portfolio performance using reports and dashboards.
• Support the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly portfolio performance reports.
• Analyse portfolio data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain accurate portfolio records and support data integrity.
• Assist in creating and maintaining dashboards using Power BI or other reporting tools.
• Support data extraction, cleaning, validation, and reconciliation activities.
• Conduct research and provide analytical insights for portfolio management initiatives.
• Collaborate with Portfolio, Risk, Product, and Operations teams on data-driven projects.
• Assist with ad hoc reporting and business analysis requests.
• Maintain accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity when handling customer and portfolio information.

Requirements

• Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Must have successfully completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.
• Strong academic record.
• Previous internship, academic project, or coursework in data analytics, business intelligence, finance, banking, or a related area is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence concepts.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
• Understanding of Power BI, SQL, MySQL, or similar reporting tools is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, research, and reporting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Strong integrity and confidentiality when handling business data.
